Wolverhampton token 1826 value of 10 I. Fellows Brass George IV

Wolverhampton token, 1826, value of 10, I. Fellows
Brass.
Plain edge.
1.44 g
15.1 mm

The Fellows family are believed to have had an ironworks and a japanning factory in Bilston in the 1730s. Around 1800 the business moved to Pool Street, Wolverhampton.

This small brass token with the value of 10 on the reverse may have either been a factory token which may have been issued by the firm in its early years, or perhaps a school merit token where the school was supported by the Fellows family.
