Breton 933 Edmonton Hotel token D. Ross Northwest Territories (Alberta) Canada

Breton 933
Brass
4.72 g
24.2 mm
From the Western Collection; Ex. Andy McKaig.
One of the rarest of the Breton listed post-Confederation tokens.

Alberta became a province of Canada on September 1, 1905. It was created from a section of the Northwest Territories along with Saskatchewan.

D. Ross purchased his cutlery and silverware from the Pick Co. in Chicago. This example has a different reverse than the Temple example from the Fall 2012 Sale Lot # 794. The scallop spoon is on the left and has no table under the spoons and goblet. The D. Ross tokens are extremely scarce and seldom appear in the marketplace.(Text taken from GBA, Toronto Coin Expo Spring Sale 2014, lot 1278)
